Airport Style Inspiration

My fabulous internship in New York has come to an end. *queue the violins* My experience at Good Housekeeping magazine has certainly been educational, and the staff was cool. The 28th floor crew will be missed.
Now, it’s time to pack up and head to the airport. Dressing for the airport can be tricky. I want to be comfy, but my dad has always told me “you never know who you will meet”. So, I want to still be flawless and fierce.
This is what the paparazzi could catch me in at the airport: Airport Style Inspiration
Boyfriend jeans are my favorite style of jeans. It doesn’t matter what color wash they are. I’ve always gone to them first in GAP or Forever21. I have a at least three white v-neck t-shirts in my wardrobe. I don’t hesitate to pull one out on any given occasion. (Confession: I’ve worn a white t-shirt to dinner before) Shoes are my favorite element in an outfit. So, adding Converse to this outfit was a no brainer.
Accessories are easy to layer in an outfit. A watch and rings aren’t too heavy on the wrist and hands, and if layered correctly they can really help a look to shine. Now, the bag! You have to make sure you have a cute carry-on bag. This Michael Kors is perfect for traveling. You can have everything you need in this bag. The long straps will help the weight to be easy on your shoulders. Yes, everything in this look is red. That’s only because the look would be bland with the white elements in the top and shoes. You need a bold color to help the look pop. Top off everything with a red lip, and you’re ready to take flight!

Pineapple Crazy

Pineapple has somehow crept it’s way into our wardrobes. Where did this fruit print trend come from? I can’t answer that, but I’m pretty in love with it. Guess what? It’s not just me whose head over hills for this summer trend.
Good Housekeeping’s August 2015 issue features pineapple clothing and DIYs.
Olivia Munn graces the cover holding a pineapple with a pink painted crown.
This is an awesome DIY, but I don’t really care about DIY projects, lol. Back to fashion. Inside of the magazine, she wears a Tory Burch top that is the absolute cutest. The pineapple top is tucked into a pair of Derek Lam 10 Crosby high waisted shorts. It’s just too adorable.
Basically, every designer I love has gotten in on the fun. Kate Spade has a couple cute handbags and clutches. Oh, and I can’t forget an awesome phone case. Keds allows your feet to get in on this madness, too. I’ve been so inspired by the trend I had to put my own spin on it. Is this too much pineapple? I don’t really care, because this look is perfect for summer.

Summer Date Night Style Inspiration

Is this too much yellow? Yellow is always a great summer color. Even though the hue can be incorporated into fall looks, it’s always a great enhancement to your summer wardrobe.
Summer Date Night
Take a neutral base and amp it up with yellow accessories and a bold lip. This grey body con dress is perfect with these various yellow elements. Okay I know what you’re thinking this is too coordinated. Matching hasn’t been prevalent in trends lately, but it’s okay sometimes to match your accessories. I love seeing the same color bag and shoes.

Lips are an accessory too. I notice lip colors just as often as I notice shoes. Pair this look with a sexy, bright red lip color. One of my favorites is Ruby Woo by MAC. Brighten up a date night with this look.

Sunday Brunch Style Inspiration

Since I’ve been in New York, I’ve been missing my Sunday Brunches in Mississippi with my friends. We would go to our favorite places, either Big Bad Breakfast or The Beacon in Oxford. Those are both amazing places! Shrimp and Grits, biscuits with sausage gravy or butter biscuits would be some of the delicious choices. I’m getting hungry writing this post.
Most Sundays, we’re usually recuperating from Saturday night madness, but we never miss an amazing brunch. Regardless if it’s sunny or rainy we make our way to the food and ambiance.
On any given Sunday you can catch me dolling it up with my makeup and a cute outfit. Even though I didn’t make my way to church, you would think I went.
To give you guys a little inspiration and a taste of what you could catch me in at any local brunch restaurant. This Polyvore set is an amazing Sunday Brunch Inspiration Look!
A cool, linen dress and gladiator sandals are perfect for this hot, summer weather. Sunglasses to block the sun and possible hangover face, lol. A huge, bucket bag to throw your mascara and gloss in (and possibly anything you’ve left at your friend’s house the night before).
